Water & Drainage

Drainage is an important layer of information for exploration geology (structure, geochemistry, geophysics), forestry, ecology or landuse projects. For now what’s available in many countries is outdated information offering a really poor quality. This is because it was created many years ago by human skills using air photos and doing visual restitution. Nowadays it is possible to extract the drainage network using automated algorithm such as cellular automata which calculates the precise path of the drainage from up to date information (Digital Elevation Model) obtained from high resolution satellite or airborne images (Radar and visual).
These algorithms also permit to extract Watersheds limits, Runoff, Erosion, Flow direction and many other parameters that have to be considered in various studies.
